Pros

Low expectations due to fairly incompetent leadership.

Cons

Company has broad goals overall but very few true leaders to actually drive results. Managers, Directors, “Head Of’s” lack general experience needed for success and tend to pass failure on to reports. Executives try to “build” leaders by sending them through company-sponsored leadership programs which only produces inflated egos. The failed model of promoting based on tenure vs. ability has started to catch up since 2020. The company and culture originally built by the founder and CEO no longer exists. Toxicity is often hidden from Executive level.

Pros

The work environment is relaxed and low-stress, and the projects themselves are genuinely interesting and give you room to work on real, meaningful problems. Compensation is fair for the base role, and the day-to-day culture is easy to work within.

Cons

Growth opportunities within the company are limited, and it can be hard to see a clear path upward. Compensation, while fair, isn't very competitive compared to the market for similar data science roles, especially as skills develop. Projects are interesting but aren't closely tied to cutting-edge AI/ML work, so it's harder to build modern, in-demand technical skills here.
