Top credit union. Fast growth. Decent opportunities. - Financial Service Representative Citadel Credit Union Employee Review

Pros

Typically pays more than most financial institutions. The expansion and growth based vision is top notch. Paid time off is excellent.

Cons

There is no accountability for branch management. Despite the rapid growth, there is little room for improvement and advancement within the company. Management places blame for unmet goals on the employees rather than take ownership. Profit sharing and the bonus pay system are a joke compared to other companies and financial institutions.

Thank you for your feedback. We have an open door policy at Citadel, so at any time employees are welcomed and encouraged to address concerns with the next level of management or human resources. We take accountability very seriously. We have various training programs available for management, which includes a course focused on accountability. Goals are also team oriented in hopes of creating a less aggressive environment and inspire team work. There are programs such as the President's Council, in place to reward those individuals who truly go above and beyond. Thank you again for your review and as mentioned, please feel free to reach out to any member of management or HR to discuss in more detail.

Pros

Genuinely great experience working here, both because of the people and the opportunities to grow. The team is supportive and collaborative — everyone’s willing to jump in and help, share knowledge, and celebrate each other’s wins. It creates a work environment that feels more like a team effort than everyone just grinding on their own.

Cons

Communication across departments isn’t always perfectly in sync, though it’s rarely a real issue. Onboarding could be a little more structured, but there’s always someone willing to help you figure things out. Things can get busy at times, but overall it’s manageable and part of a normal, growing work environment.
