Big company, too big to fail, too big to succeed - both as a company, and for the individual employees. - Analyst Citi Employee Review

Pros

Citigroup is a big company, there are lots of opportunities to grow if you seek out to them. A person can meet people that he/she never thought existed or learn about things that he/she never heard of.

Cons

Big company, you can easily gotten lost if you are not aggressive. Like everyone else said, you are just a number - or as they put it, a P & L. In business, it's about how much you can bring in. In back office operations and technology, it's all about how many people you "manage". Huge disparity in pay scales depending on your group - in fact, there is no "Citigroup" culture, it's all about the culture of whatever group you wound up in.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
