Pros

-Great benefits (4 weeks vacation, paid holidays, short term dissability paid at 100%) -Normal work hours (typically 50 hours a week or so. Generally 8:30 to 6:00)

Cons

If you are interested in a highly motivated environment this is not the place for you. There is little room for advancement once you reach the branch manager level. There is no official mentor program. The company attracts employees by saying that there are lots of opportunities due to the globality of the company. However, management will block any possibility of loosing a good employee to another business within the company. As a manger you are not given much opportunity to make decisions. Everything is very cookie cutter. It is my understanding that other areas of the business are not this way but this is what I can say about my experience at Citibank.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
