Pros

Excellent Empowerment Decision Making is brought down to lowest levels (DEPENDS on the REGION you work under!) Staff Voice is Heard Movement across functions is possible (connections needed though)

Cons

Processes are too complicated and tend to prevent output from progressing Bureaucracy at inter region levels due to current pressure to Globalize certain functions Your luck on your career advancement depends on which boss you are assigned to. Very diverse and inconsistent rewards programs (depend on the region)

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
