Pros
One of the higher paying banks, good vacation/benefits, weekly paychecks
Cons
The sales goals are unobtainable, at least in the branch I was at. Everything you have to say to the customers is scripted and they want you to stick to that script, and really not add any of your own personality into things which can come off as sounding robotic. The branch I worked in had extremely low traffic (because people in my city are choosing PNC and other banks, not Citizens, and Citizens knows this). Despite having only 20-25 customers come in to the branch per day, we were expected to get all of these checking/savings accounts, credit cards, loan apps, per week. They really put a focus on how much "new money" is brought into the branch. And even when a customer is coming in for a routine check cashing, we are told basically ram things down their throat (premier banking appts, refinancing loans, etc). The sales are ridiculous and the pay isn't worth the stress of the job. Hours are also long.
