Pros

-Awesome projects. If you're in the DMV location, Clark is the main name. Around they country they are not "known" as much. -Great team. Never have had an issue with anyone. -Push for growth, offer a lot of trainings and learning programs etc. -Slowly are getting better with work life balance but it is just not there or actually honest.

Cons

-You have to LOVEEEE construction to feel compensated for what you are doing. Pay is decent but when you're working 10-12 hour days , some nights and weekends….is your salary actually good?!?! -A lot of turnover. I have recommended many people who have not been hired yet they hire others with 0 experience. -Seems a lot of the younger project managers have started from college and are almost bred like robots. They might be good at their job but everyone seems 100000000% over worked. At the end of the day they might be able to say they worked on a cool project in DC but are they actually happy… -Working weekends you should be getting an extra vacation day/floating holiday. A lot of competitors do that. -About 10 different programs are used I the field on a daily basis. Listen to your employees who ACTUALLY use them and have suggestions on what would help them. -Another person wrote a lot of 0-2 year then 10-15 but not a lot of between. That should tell them something. -Terms of COVID - doing a good job at keeping clean and enforcing guidelines. However, still expect to work xyz hours which also starts to compromise your immune system. -Up until approx 10 years ago women had to wear tights in the office…...

Clark Construction Group Response

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. While conducting focus groups last year, we learned that our team members love being able to deliver assets that are integral to our everyday lives, and thrive on executing complex projects that push the boundaries of our industry. Our employees' passion makes us the company we are today. We are constantly learning and evolving our culture to meet the needs of our employees. We know that every industry has its demanding periods, and construction is no exception. We pride ourselves on our reputation of serving our customers and delivering quality products on time. To that end, we continue to deploy programs to help ensure our employees maintain a healthy life and are able to juggle the demands of work and home. Finding the right mix is critical for our team members and our business. If you are open to it, I encourage you to reach out to me directly to discuss further. - Mark Hamberlin, Chief People Officer

Pros

Really good place to grow your career. You'll get a lot of responsibility that you might not get elsewhere

Cons

The reason they give so much experience to young people is because anyone with options flees like it's the plague. They make everything much more difficult than it needs to be. Turnover factory because no one wants to do extra hours of unnecessary work all inside an extremely tense culture. Never seen a company do things so backwards in precon because its "the Clark way" and then when it doesn't work out they are surprised. In many Clark regions they lose their competitiveness as soon as the market is good and subcontractors have a choice of who they will work with. There are so many incredible regional subs that wont touch Clark. The only people that last here are Clark Lifers or people who came from even more toxic offices who dont realize how backwards the Clark culture is
