Pros

Good pay. Good benefits. Stability. Jobs in a variety of fields- van, tanker, roll off, vacuum truck, end dump… Locations all over the US and Canada. Some set runs, some variable dispatch. Local, regional, cross country. Some hourly, some pay by mile. Some drop and hook, some live unload/reload. Most loads are between company owned facilities. Depends on individual job. Safety is a top priority.

Cons

Vacation pay for drivers needs to be revised. Basic vacation pay is 40 hours, my average pay is roughly equal to 65 hours (40 + 25 @ overtime). If I use 60 hours of vacation per week taken, my paycheck is still only two thirds of my average take home pay. If you have driven for trucking companies, the adjustment to private fleet can be… interesting.

Pros

Plenty of hours between 75 to 80 hours a week minimum. Good place to get experience as a stepping stone.

Cons

You're always on call it is mandatory that you work three weekends a month both Saturday and Sunday including the 5-day work weeks Monday through Friday Technician. As a coordinator you work 6 day work weeks Sunday through Friday you only get Saturdays off it's a salary based position so you get no compensation if you work over 8 hours a day as a coordinator and you will work more than 8 hours a day your minimum will be 12 to 14 hours a day up to a maximum of 18 hours a day regularly.
