Pros
Fun office culture and dynamic. Director and managers are always willing to work with employees on personal issues and work related issues as well. Pay and benefits are decent for people who do not live above their means. Working for meaningful campaigns while meeting new people (strangers- when knocking on their doors) is a plus. There are many heights while canvassing- especially when you are able to get a lot of support in one night. Being outside for 5 hours a night in all weather conditions! Helps you to stay fit :D
Cons
Not a stress free job! To make daily/ weekly quota employees must work really hard to get contributions from "cold calling" strangers at their door steps. Fundraising can be inconsistent depending on the socioeconomic class and timing of the neighborhood being canvassed. Poor fundraising skills can effect the outcome of your paycheck. While working outside in all weather conditions is a "pro" for me, it is definitely not for everyone!
