Dumb - Canvasser Clean Water Action Employee Review

Pros

Not a scam; from all the craigslist ads they put out I was concerned if it even was a real position. But it is a real organization that has won real successes, albeit by accumulating a ton of cash (which is your goal as a canvasser) and lobbying in backrooms. The people I met there were awesome, still friends with them and it really made the job passible. If you're good at canvassing, and can suck it up long enough, this will be a good entry level job.

Cons

First off, hours are 1-10. And subject to change based on when you get back to the office after a day canvassing. Second, you're compensated per diem for your shifts. Don't trust the $10-$14 hr crap. You make $85/day (9.4/hr), with bonuses based on how much you raise over quota. Bonuses are peanuts. Third, the whole quota thing. It's a necessary evil, I guess, but it's not a good labor practice.
