Pros

As a student attending the university it is very convenient to work there in regards to its downtown location. The Recreation Center just recently agreed to give all part time positions a 30 cent raise. Shifts during the week are 3 hours long to easily fit between your classes compared to 5 hour shifts on the weekend. Its really easy to swap shifts with other co workers if you want to double up shifts during the day or take the day off completely.

Cons

Parking can be extremely difficult. Street parking is only free on weekends and after 6 during week days. If you want to work here its important to have people skills. Overall, it is typically a low stress job; however, it can become highly stressful when guests become injured or if there are alterations on the basketball courts. Some of the patrons that enter the place can be rude and will try to sneak into the facility without paying. When confronting them you have to be willing to be yelled at. Its the nature of customer service to diffuse these conflicts and any other arguments that should arise.
