Pros

I thought about giving 4 stars but ended up giving it 5. Honestly, if you do your due diligence and end up CHOOSING to come here, it'll most likely be a 4 or 5 star experience. For the most part, the people here are really great to work with and are generally competent to excellent in what they do. Leadership team (people managers and above) also tend to be human centric in style and care about you. The company's unique situation as a government sponsored enterprise gives it such an edge that profitability is all but guaranteed (nevertheless minor layoffs have happened to execs). You'll generally be rewarded for good performance and the hours are very comfortable. If you want a job that pays fairly and not high stress, this is most certainly among the best.

Cons

So what makes it successful (the competitive landscape) can make it seemingly stagnant because changes are slow and deliberate. CoBank will never be at the cutting edge in terms of tech or process and that's by design. Expect to gain more soft skills than technical skills (of course you can gain both) relative to what you can gain in another location. Promotion can seem random but are generally perceived as fair.

Pros

Financially speaking CoBank is a stable company. The yearly bonus payout is competitive,

Cons

It's referred to as "CoBank nice" which is another way of saying it's a passive-aggressive culture. If you dislike endless meetings, this environment can be frustrating. Strong resistance to change at the leadership levels - despite claims of being focused on transformation, real progress is very limited. Extremely slow pace. Recent months have brought significant organizational and leadership changes, but very little acknowledgement about the impact those changes have on associates. PTO is definitely not competitive.
