Pros

Not much. Decent starting pay

Cons

Glorified call centre job with a month of training in Virginia. While you're there, you are held to American standards even though standards in Canada are different - impractical training because resources are different in the States than Canada, the American trainers aren't trained on Canadian standards/circumstances/CRE culture. Canadian research portfolios can't compete with metrics that can be achieved with American portfolios given CoStar's recent appear on the Canadian market, BUT you are still expected to perform like an American researcher. Training only cares about quantity over quality, and puts you on the phone with little walk through of the process and absolutely no regard for your comfort. Trainers were condescending and CoStar is serious when they say competitive workplace - you are instantly pinned against coworkers from the second you are put on the phone, and you are expected to be a calling machine. Personhood is unaccounted for in this work place.

Thank you for leaving a review and thank you for the time that you spent at CoStar. It sounds like this role may have not been the right fit for you. Delivering the most comprehensive and accurate data set available in commercial real estate is absolutely our priority. Our call metrics are designed to ensure that our information is accurate and up to date. We know that calling is sometimes difficult but, frankly, it often obtains information that cannot be gathered in any other manner. Every potential member of the research time has the opportunity to shadow a current researcher and spend time with them before they accept a role with us, which should have been the case with you. We are committed to transparency about all aspects of research. We offer extensive training for our research team, including several weeks of training immediately following their start date and ongoing training. We are proud of the fact that thousands of researchers have joined CoStar and been promoted within research or to other positions in the company over our 30-year history. We wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.

Pros

I worked for Homes.com - Great first job out of college to learn a lot about sales and can make good money in the first 3 months - FIND PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONE THIS JOB AND HAVE LEFT AND FIGURE OUT WHY CUZ THEY'LL TELL YOU

Cons

I worked for Homes.com - You're doing 3 jobs in one and the pay does not reflect that - it is churn and burn. The average tenure here is 7 months - Management doesn't know what's going on 3/4 of the time. It is all up to the CEO and he's on his private jet more than 3/4 of the time
