Pros

Great benefits, amazing pay, great coworkers. Gear and expenses are all provided for employees. Bonuses, traveling, company vehicle.

Cons

Management was horrendous. You either have a manager that has been a photographer or someone who isn't. No one knows what is going on and things are always changing for the better and its always fluctuating but it takes a long time for things to settle, and just when you think it does, something new is added or taken off. This job literally takes away your free time and anything outside of work. They preach that you work up to 40hrs, but I was working almost 60hrs a week. That is because deadlines are crazy and expectations are set very high to the company. You could be putting in 110% but none of that matters. Doesn't matter if the weather is bad, does not matter if you encounter a bad individual on the street, the company wants what they want and you better get it or else you're in trouble. I think what the companies goal and what their striving for is a great idea but their process of how they go about things is all wrong towards their employees. There is also a point system that the company makes it out to sounds fairly easy to reach. And it can be, but this company fails to remember that we all come from different backgrounds and live in different places in the world so we don't always have those go lucky beautiful and populated neighborhoods to capture for them. My manager at the time couldn't understand how one area I captured had so many people and lifestyle but then the city next over I captured had no people in the photographs and they got upset. Funny because they were both shot on the same day. Some areas are just more lively than others. If theres a cancellation from a media shoot or the weather is not in your favor, its up to you to find a way to obtain your points for the week. Things that you would think are no fault on your behalf, the company thinks otherwise. I thought I could seek out my managers for help, but it depends what state you're in and who exactly your manager is. My manager for one did not help me at all and I had to build myself up and teach myself things that the company will not help you on. They want things done a certain way, but they don't show you how to get there or how it can be done. Before I left, I was one of the top photographers in my state because of my scores and work consistency. I was able to catch up to my coworkers who had been there for years despite the lack of support from my managers. I loved my coworkers and they tried to help me as much as they could but you and they are literally so busy working there is never any time. I remember how much this job made me cry everyday and although the money, and benefits were great, it was still not enough for me to stay. I thought I was going to be able to stay with this job long term, and the idea of making so much money at my age and doing what you love literally sounded like a dream come true. But this job just might make you hate what you love. They recently got voted best working place in their home state of Virginia... Theres a reason why only that state and no where else globally... Listen to the reviews from previous workers, because I didn't care and only saw money, now I can't help but agree and understand.

Pros

This company makes a strong first impression during the interview and training process. Unfortunately, my experience after onboarding was very different. Decision-making is highly centralized, leaving employees with very little autonomy. The company emphasizes ethics and integrity, but my experience did not consistently reflect those values. Favoritism also appeared to play a significant role in how employees were treated and how decisions were made. HR presents itself as a resource for employees, but concerns often end with, “It will be up to your manager.” That can be frustrating when the issue involves your manager or requires an impartial review. CoStar has developed a reputation for these issues, and from what I experienced, it wasn’t always this way. A few years ago, the company at least appeared to prioritize its employees. Today, that commitment feels diminished. The return-to-office expectations can also be unreasonable. During severe weather, employees are still expected to report to the office even when many other companies in the area allow employees to work remotely for safety. Finally, performance expectations and metrics are frequently changed, making goals increasingly difficult to achieve. Combined with inconsistent communication from leadership, it creates an environment where employees often feel unsupported and uncertain about expectations.

Cons

Good Health Benefits for families and singles Decent pay
