Pros
-Coworkers (!) -Helping community/students -Hours -Benefits are very good for Flagstaff
Cons
-Demanding faculty who act like the students they teach (most have only had this job after college so they lack experience in the real world) -State/County budget issues result in short-staffed departments (most can only put out fires - there's no ability to plan because you're busy just keeping things afloat) -Cliques of faculty glom together to force changes they want, disregarding others' views -Administration doesn't have a clear picture of what's happening at the direct-student-contact-level -Managers (called "Directors") are all friends. They will not consider dissenting views from anyone lower than them. -Pigeon-holed into positions (several staff members can't move to other areas of the college b/c of personal opinions of their managers and/or because the manager doesn't want to lose the person, so they get stuck in a dead-end job)
