Pros

Compensation is competitive Recruit from good schools

Cons

Projects last at minimum 1-2+ years HR highly discourages short-term project requests (self directed career development) 0% plus or minus 0% travel opportunity outside Los Angeles (IME) practice Hours consistently 50-60+/week 401(k) contributions matched only after 1 year of service Outsourcing severely prevents ability to develop technical skill sets Nearly all day to day work will exist within MS word/excel (functional) Promotion based more on tenure/seniority than performance

Pros

It was a much needed check in a time of need

Cons

Management seemed uneducated. I dnt know about cognizant as a whole but their eligibility department needs help. They focus on the things that do no matter. They were at risk of losing this contract, so now it’s whatever they client says, they do…no push back including making us do disability cases, that we had no previous knowledge of. In the beginning I was getting OT like crazy. Then they stopped it talking about it wasn’t in there budget, and at times when we needed someone to work/stay late. They are not consistent and the other employees there, are looking for other positions, too. Not to mention, myself and another employee were the only ones there for the longest. It’s a mess.
