Pros

Pay is okay for 1st job outta college. Obviously not google level 60k with benefits. You get job experience and a signing bonus which. You can use to job hop a year later if you choose. They paid us instead of laying us off during the pandemic and its a solid company that never did wrong by me.

Cons

Terrible mentorship if you end up as a QA you will be doing manual testing most likely. You get to interview for projects but there isnt any structure for newer hires they just throw you into it. Its super stressful to work as a “contractor” when you arent sure if a project is going to end. You might have to move super far away which is unfeasible sometimes. Horrible place to grow your skillset. Good luck trying to switch from QA to anything else its all up to whoever your manager is.

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
