Pros
I love my job Work is very challenging and interesting in a growing market Great work/life balance Zero health insurance premium (HDHP w/ 100% employee funded HSA) Can work remotely when needed
Cons
Accounting for inflation, I currently make approximately 12% less than when I first started here. I have only received one semi-decent raise (which still didn't keep up with inflation for that year). Raises have been largely non-existent for years now during arguably the worst inflation period our country has ever seen. This is directly a result of cost-cutting measures being deployed across the board due to the bidding war over legacy Coherent. The company has been unwilling to provide employees a breakdown of their salary compared to other employees in the same position (as a percentile) since the merger. This is standard practice at many companies during performance reviews to see where you sit within your "band level" to ensure you are being compensated fairly and/or approaching a promotion. Raises alot of red flags. There have also been some cuts to benefits since the merger, including being forced to take vacation days and cuts to sick time.
