James Watson is now a figure head here which is both good and bad depending on how forgiving you are of his antics. Cold Spring Harbor is also a scientific destination because of the strength of the meetings and courses department. Leading researchers from around the world come here to share their ideas in talks and poster sessions, and in the summers, scientists can enroll in courses to shore up knowledge in their fields or in fields related to their future interests.
