Pros
-There's a lot of flexibility, and every team is different -"Entrepreneurial" -More chance to WFH/Hybrid
Cons
-Brokers here are literally the degenerates of Commercial real estate with fragile egos and want to overcompensate some power over the support staff. -Office is like a Frat house with a bunch of young bros and middle aged white men who still try to act like a young bro -Every team is run like its own business, which can be good but, overall, awful. HR has no idea how unethical and unprofessional these brokers are or the roles and duties of employees. -Work-life balance is terrible -Prepare for years on end of 401k matching freeze and pay increases -I saw so many support staff yelled at by brokers to the point of tears -Nepotism is gross -They hire primarily based on "culture fit," not so much on skills, which by culture means all white people and very minimal diversity. Since you're on your own little team, you have no idea about the national resources available and other opportunities. -Minimal opportunity for growth or exposure, unless the broker thinks of you as a buddy or bro to bring you along to a client meeting - We can change your title to Senior, but you have the same pay, same duties -Hard working people get compensated with more work.
