Pros

I learned a lot (although not enough) in a very short time because I was thrown to the wolves and then blamed for my incompetence.

Cons

Where to start? Offer took months. Recruiter constantly texted me updates with information inconsistent with what I got from future team members. Lack of communication among management - for example, tasks were accidentally assigned to more than one person on the team. No clear supervisory structure - all of my training and support was done by a colleague with no managerial standing with self-professed ocd (translation: she had a need to control everything and everyone). Major red flags started within my first week when my supervisor warned me about a coworker and said that they warn everyone (excuse me, what? Is this middle school?). Lots of backstabbing and throwing under the bus of team members the likes of which I haven't encountered since sixth grade. One solid, honest person on the team; the rest were ready to step on each other and get ahead no matter the cost. It became clear very soon after I was hired that their expectations were far beyond what I had discussed with them regarding my experience (or lack of). Hey, my bad - you interviewed me 3x and still didn't hear anything I said OR read my resume. After 2 months, I let my supervisor know I was struggling and knew I was off to a poor start, and I was brushed off and told "don't worry about that right now.; we'll talk about that in your performance review" Fast forward one month and I was let go. Terrible, traumatizing experience. My confidence is heavily damaged and I left a solid job where I was comfortable (although not learning and growing). I am now unemployed just in time for the holidays. You guys can have each other; you deserve it! Happy holidays!
