Pros

Benefits the day your start, lunches every Thursday (only in summer), leave early on Fridays in the summer...that's really it.

Cons

There could be so much potential with this place. The job itself is fine and the products are easy to sell once you learn about them (although training is haphazard). Upper management has no idea what is going on, high turnover rate, and overall bad morale.

Colonial Surety Company Response

Colonial Surety Company has been in business since 1930, and under current ownership and leadership since 1986. We are surprised to read this comment, however, we do understand that short tenure may be reflective of this point of view. In general staff hired at Colonial Surety Company enjoy long term employment, although limited separations for specific reasons do occur. We are an at will employer who continues to strive to meet the needs of our clients as well as providing a positive and innovative working environment for all staff. Financially strong with over 80 years of experience, Colonial Surety Company is Treasury listed, rated Excellent by A.M. Best Company and enjoys positive reviews regarding exceptional financial history, service and support systems.

Pros

It is a good place to build your resume. However, they simply do not value their employees, unfortunately for this reason they are a revolving door. Sometimes company will provide lunch and birthday bagels.

Cons

CEO does not believe in work from home, but HE can work remotely even though he does not know how to use a computer. He has employees from office remotely connect him to his meetings. Make it make sense. Also on terrible snow days they refuse to close making it clear they don't care about employee safety, only their bottom line and "Image" even though customers don't physically come in. Remember this is an online bond/insurance company...
