Pros
Loved the individuals in the business with expertise, passion and a drive to innovate and collaborate. We did amazing work together.
Cons
The culture in HR has gotten worse overtime and it’s having a negative impact on the business. I worked on a high performing team for many years and HR leadership treated me so poorly my mental health deteriorated and I felt forced to leave for my well-being and career advancement opportunities. I was teased with a promotion for 2 years and then was told I had terrible character and I didn’t fit in when it came time to go for the promotion. I was used and completely undervalued. My experience is one that traumatized me and left me questioning my self-worth. My approach and character was well received by business partners, leaders and employees and trashed by HR leadership. I didn’t experience inclusive behaviors by HR leaders and when I spoke up I was retaliated against with passive aggressive behaviors and dismissive communication. It was so hurtful. And I was the person always called on to pull of large strategic programs and wasn’t compensated or treated fairly. They stress diversity but don’t actually want different ideas, innovation or functional expertise included in how they work. What I witnessed was people that looked and talked like HR senior leaders getting treated better than those of us who didn’t. My experience is not the only one, you will find so much amazing HR talent leaving the company because it’s performative and lacks diversity and inclusion.
