Pros

Schedule was consistent. I always knew what I was working and when. My shifts never strayed from my norm unless needed to cover for other people that were away in my department.

Cons

A few. - they messed up my days off and scheduling around my second 4 times in under a month an a half - never received formal training - was given a two day crash course in everything I needed to know to do my job - a lot of the time I had nothing to do and thus was bored. Would ask for other things to do in the hotel, usually there was nothing - it is expected that you help with other departments' work (ex laundry help with grounds keeping) - was told the position would be full time, am getting part-time hours (their definition of full time seems to be 8hrs per day, not 40 hrs per week) - schedules are weekly, making it hard to plan for events sometimes

Pros

A good job. Good team. I worked there back in 2006/7-2009…

Cons

Smaller hotel, select service…after being downtown my whole career. It was a good way to re-enter the industry after moving away and living elsewhere for a while, learned the airport hotel energy and turnover and ground transportation/railroad /airline crew side, which is a very different thing.
