Supportive coworkers, but limited growth opportunities - UX Designer Command Alkon Employee Review

Command Alkon is a unicorn in that we're a 50 year old software company providing technology to a foundational industry of ready mixed concrete, aggregate, and asphalt producers. The industry is filled with good hard working people and we provide the technology to help their job easier and their businesses more efficient. As the industry at large moves to cloud-based technology to streamline operations and enhance integrations across functions, Command Alkon is poised to lead the technological transformation in the years ahead. The workforce largely is remote and building and maintaining culture is more difficult in that structure but a conscious effort is made at all levels to ensure continuity in values

Unlimited PTO and pretty good benefits. There are some genuine efforts to continue innovating which is nice to see.

There is really little to no room for career advancement at Command Alkon. There are thinly veiled promotions with no pay increase but an increase in responsibilities. Management does not care about your growth, your pay, your success. Lots of micromanagement and no trust even when you succeed. No path for growth and no support. The sales side of the organization is mismanaged, territories unfairly distributed, and higher pressure than anywhere I have worked. The pay is below industry standard. There are higher and higher turnover rates here. Take what you will from that fact.
