Pros
The pay is pretty decent
Cons
It's all about numbers not about taking care of the employees. I've worked in multiple branches and there is A LOT of drama within each one and between each one. Rumors are spread around faster than in high school. There is a lot of favoritism throughout the company that I have witnessed. Employees that have been there for 10 plus years with amazing numbers, an amazing work ethic, and the skills needed for the job get turned down multiple times to advance in their career for somebody who has never worked for the company or somebody that is "cool" in the eyes of management but lack the numbers, work ethic, and skills . There are managers that should not be managers and obtained their position due to favoritism but lack all of the skills of managing a branch. I have witnessed first hand being told things by management that should only be discussed to other management. For example, other employee's raises or why somebody was written up. I've even been told things about an employee's personal life that they did not want to share with me. I have heard managers complain about other employees to people in my position and positions leading up to mine. Very low integrity in this company. I have watched managers sit in their office on their cell phone all day not doing any work. Managers have told me that they are slacking off that specific day because they "don't feel like working." There are a lot of rules and policies that aren't followed in fear of making a customer angry or losing their business or for customers with money. Customers aren't even treated fairly. It's sad. In a banking environment it should be black and white! Policies are set in place for a reason. A lot of situations happen where a teller or banker gets thrown under the bus for breaking policies when it was management that told us to do so. When you question (which they teach you to question) somebody for doing something they aren't supposed to be doing you are the one that gets hushed and nothing changes. There are also a lot of made up rules about everything. You can't take certain days of the week off, certain times of the month or you can't have half days on certain days. Nowhere in the handbook are these rules listed and if an employee is using their personal/vacation time it shouldn't matter. There have been times where requested time off has been turned down AFTER being asked what they needed time off for. It doesn't matter what they need it off for as long as they give you at least a 2 week notice. There are these concepts that management teaches to branch employees but most of the managers don't follow the concepts themselves. You can't trust most of the employees. It's an every man for themselves type of situation even though we are taught to be a team throughout the company. It is hard to grow when you don't have support from your team and you have people that won't help you because they don't want you to advance further than them. They have unrealistic goals and think there is something wrong with what you are doing when it is impossible to meet them regardless of how hard you are trying. The system they use to track your results is not user friendly and has a lot of kinks. If you aren't tracking what you sell with pen and paper you are most likely going to miss out on some of your incentives. The turnover rate has tremendously increased since I started here. Branches are always short staffed and the employees within each branch rarely work as a whole to help the less than ideal situations. There are bankers that seem to think that they are above the tellers even though we all do the same jobs and everybody's over all goal is supposed to be to deliver a great customer experience. I have worked both sides; teller and banker. I never once put myself above a teller! We are here for the same results. The worst part is that customers see all of this. I have had many customers make comments about how bad things have become since they started banking here years ago. I have been told by customers about how badly they have been treated and if it wasn't for specific employees that are loyal to them as a customer they would have left in a heart beat after their experiences. These are just a handful of the reasons I decided to leave this company; their low morals, low integrity, unfair ways, and childlike behavior. I would never recommend anybody to apply for this company.
