Pros

Beautiful view of Pikes Peak, many outdoor activities, family friendly city.

Cons

Because this is a military town with an influx of nurses the pay is very low in respect to the cost of living. The hospital functions as a community hospital that desires to compete with the medical market of Denver, however the pay and benefits are lacking. Staffing is poor with high and dangerous patient/nurse ratios and mandatory call shifts are used as regular staffing. Quality of life is low. There is no sense of appreciation of staff. Management functions with no concept of the staff.

Pros

Good pay, decent management, flexible scheduling while in school and overall healthy work environment

Cons

There is no rotation for PRN staff to be put on call, meaning you will always be the first they put on. Additionally, if you're not used to working with 12+ patients at a time, this isn't the place for you as they like to load us up instead of bringing in more techs and nurses.
