I have great coworkers and enjoy my job.

Benefits are expensive and lack of there of benefits.

Hybrid work schedule was a major benefit with the option to work four days remotely per week. Workstation was well-equipped with dual monitors. HR was excellent throughout the interview, hiring, and onboarding process—responsive, professional, and helpful whenever I had questions. Benefits were mediocre, but offered nonetheless.

The onboarding and training process was extremely challenging. New hires should be prepared for a very fast-paced training schedule with several hours of Webex-based instruction each day in addition to multiple meetings, learning 3 new internal systems, and reading 30+ emails. I found it mentally strenuous to absorb such a large volume of information in a virtual setting while also being expected to retain and apply it immediately. One of the biggest challenges was a lack of consistent communication regarding expectations. My trainer regularly told me I was doing well even when I specifically asked what I could improve. My manager, however, later told me I was behind in my training. I was not given a clear understanding of how significant that concern was until a later conversation. Making it difficult to know where I truly stood or how urgently I needed to improve. As a result, I believed I was meeting expectations until I was informed otherwise. I also experienced conflicting guidance between my trainer and my manager. Deadlines shifted, expectations changed, and I was sometimes held accountable for items that I believed were still on track based on previous conversations. Because I learn best by referencing clear procedures, I repeatedly requested more written instructions and documentation. However, I did not receive the level of documentation that would have helped me succeed. Overall, the environment felt high-pressure for someone still learning the role. I believe the organization would benefit from a more structured onboarding process with clearly documented expectations, regular progress checkpoints, consistent communication between trainers, managers, and the new hire, and an opportunity for new employees to address concerns before employment decisions are made. While this was my personal experience, I hope the company continues improving its onboarding process so that future employees have a clearer path to success.
