Pros

- Strong culture amongst both agents and staff. With our customers (agents) also being a part of the company, we have an extremely collaborative and supportive culture that feels more like a family than a group of colleagues. - A mission to get behind. We are working to modernize the antiquated real estate industry both for agents and their clients and it feel great to be able to see the impact we are creating in people's lives. - Inventive atmosphere with little fear of failure. Compass is always willing to experiment and try new paths to get to our goals. This makes it an incredibly exciting place to work because we are always working on new initiatives that gives us the opportunity to try and learn new things.

Cons

- Fast paced to a fault. With so much always changing, it can be difficult to keep all teams and agents on the same page. - Leadership's directives are not always clear or considerate of all steak holders, which can be very frustrating at times.

Pros

Genuinely love working here. So much to learn and do with not many stipulations.

Cons

The management chain takes ages to get things done. Real estate has so many regional nuances that corporate-wide policies often dont affect most regions appropriately.

Pros

People are smart. Very much a “move fast and break things” culture which can be refreshing compared to bureaucracy-heavy corporate life. I don’t agree with their values (if they have any) but what they’re doing is unquestionably working - business outlook is strong.

Cons

Leadership will tell you there’s no ego or self-interest involved in their strategy - that is untrue. It’s an extremely heliocentric culture around the CEO. A lot of the work is based around what people they're guessing he’ll like, but there’s no alignment at the outset and something you worked on for weeks/months will be trashed after one look from him. Their mission is ostensibly about empowering agents but they are solving a problem that pretty much no one was complaining about before they started, and which just so happens to work highly in their favor in terms of market share. It’s just business but very disingenuous- don’t believe the hype that it’s altruistic somehow. Also the CEO loves to share his sob story about his single mother upbringing, but simultaneously enacts some of the most anti-parent policies you could think of.
