Pros

Let's see here... I'm trying to think of some pros to meet the 20 word minimum for this section but I'm not coming up with any. Sorry. *Crickets chirping*

Cons

My biggest dissatisfaction with this company was how far removed I felt from my management team. I didn't even feel like I was a part of the team. I got ZERO feedback on what I was doing well, or what I needed to improve on. When I asked about yearly reviews, I was told I'd get a "cost of living" wage increase instead. Which were usually anywhere from .10 -.25 an hour. There were no opportunities for me to grow with the company even when I repeatedly expressed my interests to do so. Compass Group also has a no references policy in place, which made it incredibly difficult to have my years of employment with them verified by potential new employers. Instead they offer "The Work Number." A joke. No work culture or core values whatsoever. I couldn't even tell you who our CEO was (which is why I have no opinion of him/her) or how to get in touch with Human Resources. Other cons included a very erratic and unreliable schedule due to the client's needs, including major holidays. I was expected to work long hours at the last minute. Often forced to make a choice between attending my college classes that evening or keeping my job. PTO is a joke and very difficult to schedule. You don't take PTO when you want or need to. You take PTO when it's convenient for them. Health benefits are bare minimum and still expensive when you are trying to get by paycheck to paycheck on their low wages. Those "perks" and exclusive discounts they claim to have with other companies? The EXACT same kind of discounts you can find through online coupon sites. Tuition benefits? Only offered to salaried employees in management positions. In summary, Compass Group treats their hourly employees like second class citizens not worth investing in.

Pros

Autonomy, trust, not being tied to a desk, and encouragement to bring your authentic self to work are among the highlights. However, as a contractor, this may vary from account/site to site. Also, annual raises awarded, despite what the client schedule for increases looks like. A huge network of subsidiary companies

Cons

My current client site is one of the higher paying in my region, which is a good problem to have for some time, but leaves little room to grow financially. Also, growth rarely if ever happens staying in the same account, so financial/role growth will rest mostly upon pursuing other opportunities at different Compass accounts.

Pros

Flexibility when it comes to the commitment of your job

Cons

Your hours are very uncertain. One week you can get 30 hours & the next you wont be on the schedule at all
