At Compassion, we encourage any employee who believes they’ve been mistreated or who has witnessed co-workers being mistreated to report it to either their supervisor or their HR representative. We take these complaints very seriously, and in addition to speaking with HR or a manager, we also have a secure and confidential place to raise concerns through EthicsPoint. Contrary to your assertions, Compassion’s staff have repeatedly reported that our work environment is a safe, healthy place to learn and grow. In fact, Compassion has been awarded Gallup’s Great Workplace award six times in the last seven years. The award is based on evaluations by our own staff. In 2017, Forbes named Compassion one of the best employers in the country. Just this week, career website Zippia named Compassion one of the top 5 Best Places to Work in Colorado Springs. These accomplishments are reflections of how our employees feel and are treated at Compassion, which is a safe, fun, healthy and engaging environment where staff can contribute, grow, learn and lead. As for the India situation, we are still grieving over the forced decision to leave the country. We disagree with your statement that nothing was done for many years to keep our ministry active in India. Our efforts to stay in India were years-long , and driven by a dedicated and prayer-filled team focused on trying to resolve the issue. It was only after those years of efforts were exhausted that we were forced to make the decision to leave the country. We encourage our staff, supporters, and the broader faith community to continue to pray for the children and the Church in India.
