Pros

Better compensation per hour than most hospice programs. You can learn how to manage very high caseloads and stretch yourself so far that the next job you hold will be a piece of cake-when you leave in less than a year working at Compassus. Truly treated like working in the trenches.

Cons

Horrible insurance, losing 5 days off to “avoid raising our premiums for health care”. Management do not respect skill level of team members and will ask you to change documentation to “protect” the company from perceived liabilities. Patients do not come first, billing does. Employees do not count, they are commodities. More and more about quantity over quality of visits. No training offered, and orientation is a joke.

Pros

Working at Compassus has been an incredible experience! The company truly values its employees and goes out of its way to ensure that everyone feels appreciated and supported. The work environment is collaborative and empowering, where ideas are not only welcomed but encouraged. Leadership is approachable, transparent, and genuinely cares about the professional growth of their team.

Cons

Short staffing-while this is not a current issue it was very significant for a time. I was really impressed with how they handled this situation. Despite the challenge, management acted swiftly and effectively to address the situation. They communicated transparently with the team, redistributed tasks to ensure no one felt overwhelmed, and promptly brought in additional support. It was a great example of strong leadership and teamwork.
