Pros

The work itself is varied and interesting. Our clients are quick to accept technicians and end up like family quickly. Travel is nice and I've seen more of my home state with this job than in years of vacationing.

Cons

There is a focus on cutting costs and tightening the belt, but it appears unduly to be focused on techs. Work is case-based, and if you don't have enough cases or if cases appear likely to go over 6pm, you will lose hours for the day... this was a recent change, and my paychecks have fallen by about 30% since it was implemented.

- Easy once finding a rhythm - Decent pay for entry level position - Good hands-on experience to prepare for higher level positions

Cons

- Very repetitive - Can get boring after a few months - No guarantee for yearly raises

Pros

Management is very nice, contract client was good

Cons

low pay, benefits expensive and not very good. PTO was low. Benefits included paid holidays but my contract was at a university and a lot of holidays did not count, including Juneteenth and Martin Luther King day. Also had to use PTO during winter break, which ate up most of my PTO every year.
