I am in agreement with all of the cons already stated, but must reiterate a few noteworthy ones. Resource managers are completely non-technical. Not a problem unless, as is the case, you have to sit through an 'Eface' review and convince them why you are better than they think you are. An absolute farce. As is the MOS system of time reporting, which even has an entry in the time reporting form to record the time you spent reporting it. That one is easy, write a little script to submit your BS form at 17:30 every day and shove off home at 16:00. The resource managers are aggressive, uncaring and unresponsive ignoramii, who think nothing of driving 40 miles to hand you a letter to tell you that you are on 'monitor' for having half a day's medical appointment (seriously) then driving another 40 miles a month later to hand you a letter telling you that your attendance has been satisfactory and you are 'off monitor' . When we were tupe'd over (from IBM) we were enticed with trips to Barcelona, Sweden etc, but of course that all went by the board when they found they were way over budget on the account. So I guess financial ineptitude comes into it. Basically, they are making the same mistakes as their predecessors, which will inevitably result in an early exit. However, I must echo the dark humour of other writers regarding the CEO, Mike Norris's weekly newsletter. It's like Blackadder talking to Baldrick. He has a villa in Spain (he told us about it), a new kitchen in the villa which is the same as his neighbour's and which cost a fortune, he got 'selected' to carry the Olympic torch, (I doubt if he actually RAN with it), he has so many airmiles he could never spend them all, he plays golf whilst we all graft...you get the picture, noses well and truly rubbed in it.
