Regarding your comments on salary, at Computacenter we believe in recognising people for the contribution they make and doing all we can to reward the efforts of our people. When we review pay, we look at:
• the amount we can pay,
• functional benchmarks including market data and trends, salary history, and comparison to peers,
• individual contribution to the team, function, and Computacenter; and
• the achievement of objectives and goals, and behaviours.
We believe our culture, office environment, salary and benefits, when considered together provide a competitive offering for our people.
Turning now to our management, results from our Group Employee Survey indicates that our people rate the support and encouragement that they receive from their manager very favourably and as a company we are rated higher than the IT industry norms. Therefore, we are sorry to learn that you feel that this is not the case in your business area. We therefore encourage you to speak the HR Team for additional support if you feel unable to discuss any issues directly with your line manager.
On the subject of career progression, we empower our employees to drive their own development by leveraging their network and maximising the opportunities available within our organisation. This is fundamental to our ‘can-do’ culture. This may involve not only attending formal training, but also acquiring new skills by working in the different disciplines within the business, for example. Our people are encouraged to initiate a Future Focus meeting with their line manager to discuss their future career plans and to explore the opportunities within the company.
