Pros
Computacenter is a vast organisation with a lot of opportunities (if you have the right manager to advise and guide you). I was lucky enough in the time I spent at Computacenter to work with a wide variety of customers, this gives you the opportunity to do something different and keep you on your toes. Computacenter is very good with setting up training and giving you the experience you need. One of the best knowledge tools I have worked with (RightAnswers not NGSD). This is in no part down to the fantastic team you have in the UK and other countries.
Cons
Some of the time there is a very rigid attitude. Internally they should practice what they preach to customers. I have seen the "GSD" go from a technical service desk to a helpdesk nobody using common sense, and everything being scripted. As Computacenter is a large organisation it is very difficult to know who you need to liaise with to solve certain issues. It is difficult to get out and meet people if you are based in a small office like MK2. My advise to everyone is spend some time in Hatfield or Blackfriars, and get to meet people. I would recommend to a friend but I would not allow them to go in as a First Line Analyst. I would not wish that on my worst enemy.
