Pros

The pay was slightly higher than other remote positions. Got to learn about stocks. PTO was paid out when I left. The trainers were patient and pleasant. Calls slowed down a bit towards the end of the shift before tax season.

Cons

You have to use your own phone to connect to the system to receive calls and your phone needs to be turned on through the whole 8 hour shift. This is horrible for your phone's battery long term. The training needs to be updated. Training was about 4 weeks long but it felt more like a basic course on stocks than what you actually handle on a daily call basis. There was training included for the applications we would use but constant issues. They need to add at least 3 days of mock calls and shadowing, not just 1 day. Many upset and confused customers because they are given different information by different representatives especially on transfer of stock ownerships and MSG requirements. My team lead was not very helpful her main focus was on the call time than actually helping the customers and guidance. Others who were in my training class had different leads and some of those leads gave better guidance to them. We started out with a class of 28 in training and by the 2nd week on live calls there was only 16 of us left. The company has pretty bad customer reviews on the Better Business Bureau website regarding how outdated their service is and how information given to them is constantly wrong. I didn't research there until after I started live calls because of the constant customers being stressed out with the wrong information. I ultimately decided to leave and take a different remote opportunity at a University. I'd recommend trying out a different company or maybe a different position, but if you need a job for a bit or want to try remote work with okay pay, it's okay I guess. They just really need to update many aspects of the company.

Pros

Current upper management does not care about employees career progression or well-being in the slightest bit Ability to be stuck in a role for 15 years with a pay raise every few years if the CEO is feeling generous around the holidays after gambling on horses

Cons

It's been noted in many reviews before but there is a lot of language being used in office locations that is ableist, sexist, and racist Re-think office layouts, outdated workflows, and the fact that there are no sick days offered to full-time employees in many countries
