Pros

Not a bad place to work if you have the right manager. The benefits for education are great. You can move around in the company every two years. Some departments send you training but it depends. Managers bands 3 and above can make a lot of money for less work than those that report to him. there are some really good workers who are still around due to old pensions ( not for new people after 2012. once they get the package, it might be lights out for coned. some brand name since its nyc..

Cons

The managers from the GOLD program are a cliche. The program was created to fill in for the aging workforce that would retire but the new workforce cant compare to the old seasoned employees who spent decades in the company. These new employees has have no incentive to stay because there is no pension and the salary raises are TERRIBLE outside of supervising roles. Engineers are 3rd class citizens. The field folks are the front line. I have to admit that a majority of engineers are pretty incompetant as a result of not being allowed to do anything due to the union rules and also many waiting to retire. Old boys club here but after a recent lawsuit, conedison has been promoting many women into upper management roles some without the right background just to appear progressive. These new managers are setup in many ways to fail but usually put a lot of pressure on the subordinates. the union has a lot of entitled workers and most of them are the younger ones who dont really understand the concept of senority. Very quick to complain about every little thing but fail to give their portion of the effort towards the job they were hired into. surprisingly cheap mentality among the older workers. this becomes a problem when they are reviewing you for annual raises. cost optimization program is spear headed by a headless monster. there is no sense of direction. i think this will bite them in the long run. cant seem to attract proper engineering talent.

Pros

Strong learning environment with supportive team members and clear guidance from mentors. Great exposure to real-world supply chain and sustainability projects.

Cons

Limited ownership in some projects due to internship scope, but still a valuable learning experience overall.

Pros

- wfh - equipment provided - 2 raises a year

Cons

- very cliquey - OT is only 2 additional hours a day. nothing more - management prioritizes metrics over employees’ wellbeing - zero downtime in between calls. constantly back to back from beginning to end of shift - other depts do not hold their weight, which results in CSR’s having to do twice the work. can/will lead to burnout - union uwua local 1-2 does not advocate for members like they should. they are very cozy with con ed management. will be lackadaisical with member requests
