Pros
So, after being gone for some time now, I came back to town for the Labor Day holiday weekend (Ethnic Fest in Cambria City is an annual must even after moving) and in addition to seeing family and friends I thought I would check in with friends and former coworkers. As usual, CTC and its SELT never seem to disappoint and still surprise......
Cons
Here's what I discovered: Since I posted my original review the staffing levels have continued to decline....somewhere around 400 or so now. Not unexpectedly there was another round of layoffs in June. - Some PT staff with 0 hours maintained on the books were asked to resign. - The company that still touts itself on its website as " applied scientific research and development professional services organization." eliminated its chief technical officer and her staff (granted that was all of one person). - The company that does program management for a living eliminated its strategic PMO...again granted it was a total of one person, with no authority to effect change or provide oversight, but still at the executive director level at least there was a vocal advocate for the attempt at standardization and accountability. The Quality Director left under her own steam, however she was not replaced well technically she was replaced by one of her staff. - the company who does Government Contracting for a living, eliminated the Executive director of contracting position. - Two of the ranking financials guys have left as well..... So the company that does applied Research and development projects primarily for the DoD for a living awarded under Government Contracts, eliminated the CTO, the Contracts Executive Director, the PMO Executive Director, the Quality Director and key staff in the ELT from Finance.
