Pros
- Great technical staff. - Pays well with good benefits. - Strong support to the military.
Cons
- Senior Management are lightweights. Have been on the job since the lights were turned on 20 years ago and haven't done much since then. Cannot not survive in a competitive environment, so just stay in-place. - No job security for technical or middle management. Contract to contract work. Not for the "faint of heart" or anyone with financial worries. It's the nature of the business, but the company practices make it worse than it should be. - Heavy internal bureaucracy, almost impossible to navigate through levels of ever changing "checks and balances". There are layers of management who's apparent sole purpose is to say "no", such as a "Compliance Officer". - Constant re-organization. - The "Old Boy Network" is alive and well at CTC. Promotions are 90% based on relationships and 10% based on merit. - Bonus system is 100% based on relationships. - Company is much more interested in it's "Public Appearance" than actual support to clients. - Employees are expected to work the normal 40 hours, plus give a lot (and I mean a LOT) of "Professional Development Time". - Board of Directors almost all local Johnstown people; are easily manipulated by the Senior Executives (C-Staff). Since the BOD will not hold the C-Staff accountable, primarily because they don't know the company is sinking, life goes on with the same Senior Executives in-place. The only losers out of this situation are the regular employees and the clients.
