Pros
One of the best paying jobs in the area. Opportunity to impact the lives of our service men and women through better tools and information. There are many different types of projects to work on ranging from welding and metalworking to C4ISR.
Cons
Pork barrel budgets linked to sole source contracts. When the pork dries up and so does the contract in too many cases. Very little management training - management is filled with people that are good technically or are good at getting contracts but can't manage people or projects. Criticism is considered disloyalty. Disloyalty is punished by "lay-offs" or demotion.
