Pros

Main pro is working remote 100%. Your colleagues for the most part are collaborative and willing to do what it takes to get the job done. My management is hands-off and doesn’t micromanage. I have been pushed to learn how to operate in a different environment.

Cons

Environment is one of constant escalation and fire drills as we lack people and proper process to do our jobs. We have been on a hiring and pay increase/bonus “freeze” for 6+months now. Business is very aggressive to sell but technical teams are not properly staffed and assembled to handle the work in an efficient, client-centric manner. For me, pay is market value, but standard raises and bonuses as promised when I was hired, have not been delivered. 401k match and tuition reimbursement were removed mid-2019 and health insurance premiums are very high - higher than industry standards. Process improvements and change are usually not welcome as there are a lot of old thought processes embedded and leadership that seems not to care. Attrition rate is extremely high - I won’t reveal the rate- but it all points back to my above comments.

Pros

The only real advantage is the ability to work from home. My trainers were knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely tried to help despite the limitations of the training program.

Cons

The training is far too rushed for the complexity of the job. The trainers themselves are not the problem—they did their best—but two weeks of training followed by one week of nesting is simply not enough. You're expected to learn numerous systems, document calls accurately, understand complex fraud procedures, and handle back-to-back calls from frustrated or angry customers with very little hands-on practice. There wasn't enough call shadowing or realistic mock calls to build confidence before taking live calls. The learning curve is overwhelming, and the high turnover rate reflects that. On top of that, the pay does not match the stress, workload, or expectations of the position.
