Users say... "LOW pay (making $20k less than I would in a local district at a minimum)" "low salary compared to other High School Counselor positions." "Poor management of school administrators and no accountability for school administrators." "Gigantic class sizes (average 200 in core content courses, 500 to 1000 in elective courses), massive special education case loads (50+), administrators are constantly adding more and more work each year w/o eliminating any duties, required to work some evenings/nights to call students, enough 'paperwork' (actual paperwork or documenting multiple fields in the school online platform) to fill an Olympic size swimming pool at the end of each school year, no clear cut expectations b/c the rules are constantly changing, extremely poor communication within each department and almost nonexistent communication between departments, typically work 60 hours per week but can easily go upwards of 80 hours per week, favoritism in job advancement opportunities towards male employees, longer school year for teachers (200 work days), average pay that certainly doesn't compensate for the amount of work teachers are required to do on a daily basis, and high turn around." "managers will contradict themselves constantly and employees will still get in trouble for not following the contradictory mess"
