Consolidated Electrical Distributors

Is this your company?

I have worked here for 4 years, not worth the time getting sucked into, better off anywhere else. - Warehouse Worker & Delivery Driver Consolidated Electrical Distributors Employee Review

Pros

Laid back environment with no corporate oversight. Full benefits are offered and overtime is available when needed.

Cons

Literally everything else. After 4 years of employment I make barely above minimum wage (25 cents more) and the justification to this is that you get profit sharing once per year as a bonus check. But you can't rely on a bonus check as a part of your monthly income. I have maintained my warehouse position the entire time i have worked here just because progressing into sales is a negligible pay increase for a lot more work, at least that is what I have gathered from talking to coworkers and working here for several years. This is location based but, most of my coworkers are rude and I have been physically assaulted on the job before, with no justifiable reason. The majority of my coworkers, even the 20+ year veterans, say they would happily take a job elsewhere if an offer was made and several of us are actively searching for a better job. It seems like nobody is happy to be at the job and would rather be anywhere else. I have seen employees at other locations who seem to be happier but I cant imagine they also have a much higher pay scale at their locations so it would leave me with the same problem of working a full time laborious job making less than a barista at Starbucks. I would not recommend this job to anyone and, had I known the reality of this job before taking it, I would have politely declined and never looked back.

CED values employees. The employee experience you described is of great concern to CED. The company encourages you to promptly report the matter to CED Management or to the CED Hotline so that the company will have an opportunity to investigate. CED has a non-retaliation policy for anyone who brings forth good faith complaints.

Pros

The company has a very easy pace of work. I would recommend this to someone who is content with their career advancement and would like to coast. The workload is very manageable. Expectations are focused on uptime, with major infrastructure redundancies already in place. Benefits are good, and the profit-sharing is a nice perk that encourages retention. I would argue this is a good place to be to end your career and ride until retirement.

Cons

-Minimal PTO - two weeks to start. -No HR, it can be hard to figure out the benefits -Career advancement doesn't really exist -Behind in terms of technology
