Professional and Positive! - Contracts Constellation Energy Employee Review

Pros

The overall atmosphere is professional and positive. From the initial recruiting to the new hire onboarding, this company has the formula. The communication level is stellar and it's clear that Constellation doesn't just talk the talk, the back it with action. The benefits package is also a great add on. The Baltimore HQ location overlooks the Harbor so the view is amazing. The open office space is a good and not so good thing...but the directors have the inside offices so the other employees can enjoy the view window views (natural light is important!). So far this has been a great place to work!

Cons

Parking is expensive but they offer a pre-tax deduction. Not everyone is allowed to work a flex schedule.

Pros

Coworkers are all intelligent and overall good people to spend 12hrs a day with.

Cons

The department is perpetually understaffed. You’ll never actually work an 8hr shift, because no one is dumb enough to vote for that schedule. There’s not enough operators to fill the schedule without being forced all the time for 16hr shifts. Be prepared to be forced for OT on a regular basis even with a 12hr schedule. If your family is important, then this probably is not a good long-term plan. You’re going to miss sports, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. You live at work and home is a place you sleep. The company might advertise company holidays, but that just means you get paid a little more for being here on those days.
