Pros

The compensation and benefits package provided by the company is fair and aligns with industry standards. While not exceptional, it is generally adequate for the nature of the work. Additionally, some members of the Human Resources team are courteous and approachable, showing a sincere effort to assist employees when possible.

Cons

I do not recommend seeking employment at the Scroll Plant in Ava, MO. The facility suffers from chronic mismanagement, characterized by poor communication, inconsistent leadership, and a lack of strategic direction. Interpersonal drama is commonplace, often overshadowing daily operations and contributing to a tense and unprofessional work environment. One particularly troubling aspect is management’s apparent pride in the plant's high employee turnover rate—leadership has even referred to it as a 'revolving door,' treating constant attrition as normal rather than addressing the root causes. Instead of supporting their workforce, management routinely blames machine operators for systemic issues. For example, operators have been told they are responsible for as much as $4 million in annual repair costs, an accusation that reflects a culture of scapegoating rather than collaborative problem-solving. This tendency to ‘swing down’—shifting blame to those on the front lines instead of taking ownership at the leadership level—undermines morale, accountability, and any real potential for growth or improvement. As a result, the work environment becomes increasingly unstable, with little incentive for employees to stay long-term.

Pros

Tuition assistance program, decent vacation and a somewhat flexible schedule. Work-life balance for technicians is actually really decent. Free coffee

Cons

Some teams are very good to work for however some teams I have worked in were extremely toxic. Since the IPO announcement, corporate have came down hard on benefits, raises, and employee appreciation. They call it a sacrifice we're all making but don't show how they're sacrificing. Old knowledge is pushed out and incentivized to retire early in favor of younger workforce. New hires are always paid more fresh out of high school than employees that have been working here for years. Health insurance is absurdly high premiums for sky high deductibles. DEI is practiced rigorously. We just had one of the highest layoffs we've ever had due to a slump in residential market sales as well as the IPO.
