Broken promises: I was hired with the clear plan of transitioning into a lead role after 90 days. Despite delivering measurable results, leadership never followed through. Instead, I was let go at day 60 with no prior feedback or opportunity to address concerns.
Absent leadership: Leadership was almost entirely disengaged. They didn’t attend their own recruiting meetings, rarely responded to messages, and seemed more focused on operations projects than leading their team.
Toxic team dynamic: Even though they are trying to hire someone to lead the team another team member has all the power and does the decision making and is acting as a shadow manager.
Lack of process and structure: There was zero onboarding, training, or defined expectations. I was thrown in without tools, direction, or a clear chain of command — yet still held accountable for vague expectations.
Poor decision-making: Instead of evaluating actual metrics or context (offers, candidate pipelines, hiring manager delays), leadership made snap judgments based on assumptions.
