Pros

This is a great school in that it teaches you alot about not only your major but working in general. I'm not just talking about career services, either. Through the academic program you will learn to work your ass off like no other, and with your friends by your side you may even enjoy it.

Cons

The problem, however,is the people here are quite vacuous. Everyone tries to game the system (no academic brilliance is found here) and no one forms true friendships or relationships. This is because Cornell, in my opinion, overworks its students, and the people here are all academic climbers and care more about stepping on each other on their way to the top than wasting their precious time on forming real relationships with one another.

Pros

Time off, subsidy for children for college, small grant for childcare, and remote work ability.

Cons

Heavily bureacratic, top-down structure with zero creative ability unless it's around AI. No performance reviews from the bottom-up tell you a lot. Cornell is going through very tough times and employees are overworked, underpaid and have no room to grow or advance and heavy negative sentiment regarding all of the changes happening and further budget cuts. You need to move to another unit and apply to a higher position that way to get any type of promotion, despite your performance, goals and achievements. We get annual SIP that is below inflation and never any performance bonuses.
