Pros

-Project Engineers and Upper Staff are easily reachable and more than willing to explain clarifications or assist on their respective projects when you reach out for assistance. The more tenured field technicians are the same too. - Definitely good experience as many companies will value field work over office work.

Cons

-Long hours depending on the job(s) assigned to that day. - Inconsistent scheduling. - At least for me, doing some training on my own time was needed such as learning how to read plans, reports, scope out for details, etc. I'm not the only person either. - Regardless of Engineer or Technician, you start out in construction services and can be there for greater than 2 years if you are needed there. Promotion depends on if GI/GE is overwhelmed and needs assistance and/or if Construction Services is busy/slow. - Can be overwhelming depending on complexity and how busy the job site(s) are.

Pros

-Project Managers are easy to work with and will help you with any issues you may have on site -Have company vehicles that are kept in good working condition -Will gain plenty of field experience -great arm workout carrying the equipment

Cons

-Position is almost 100% in the field, with schedules being sent out at 5pm the day before. This leads to inconsistent work schedules with schedule updates as late as 8pm. -Schedule inconsistency can lead to days being 7 hours to 11+ hours with next to no warning. -Low pay and insufficient, inconsistent training leads to them hiring young kids out of college who are willing to work for low pay, and leave within 5 years. -No clear path for upward growth, due to small company and limited upper management positions. Felt like I could be filling the role for 10+ years. -Due to size of company new hires could quickly be "thrown to the wolves" -Older technicians seem jaded and while helpful do not inspire long term employment leading to high turnover. -Experienced rude and unprofessional behavior from one of the older techs. -If hired under Bayside solutions no PTO until hired which could be up to 9 months in with reduced pay.
