Pros
close to home. no lay-offs
Cons
not sure were to start...during my 11 years there I experienced and saw, favoritism, nepotism, sexism, condescension, hypocrisy, false promises, micro-managing. the list goes on. management is trained to avoid personal conflicts between co-workers which means you can have 1 person doing the work of 3 and they will not step in to help. Some people there get a free ride while others are overworked and under appreciated. Retirement is a joke. A 401k that offers very little in return..and that's only if you contribute. Moving up depends on who your friends are. Raises are pathetic..about every 3 years the union fights with management and employees are lucky to get a quarter raise on the hour. Many of the starting salaries are only 50 cents or so less than the salaries of those who have worked there for years. Do yourself a favor stay out of this toilet and look for work elsewhere unless you want to have years of your life robbed from you.
